facebook will always be free and here's why:

There have been viral messages on Facebook saying that Facebook will start charging. This is simply not true!

Will Facebook start charging users?

“Facebook will start charging” messages are a scam

Do not send the scam message to all your contacts. Do not copy the message and post it on your Facebook timeline. It’s a scam…We will explain why below.

Here are the facts

  • Facebook generated a reported $27.64 BILLION DOLLARS in 2016 alone.
  • There are 1.15 BILLION daily users on Facebook.

Facebook generates ad revenue from every free user who is carrying a virtual billboard (cellphone) in their pocket. Facebook.com uses your computer and/or mobile device to deliver ads each time the Facebook app is opened.

Facebook will never be a paid service because Facebook is supported by businesses who sponsor content to targeted Facebook users. Businesses love advertising on Facebook because they are able to precisely target specific user demographics.

Facebook will always be FREE to users because businesses are paying to advertise

Facebook users don’t need to pay to use Facebook because they voluntarily post personal details that it would normally be impossible for companies to buy.

Look at your Facebook profile/timeline. If you’re like most of us, we share our entire life on Facebook. For companies looking to sell a product or service, Facebook advertising is a goldmine.

A few of the things that users voluntarily share

  • Work History
  • Education
  • Current City
  • Hometown
  • Places You’ve Lived
  • Languages Spoken
  • Birth Date
  • Birth Year
  • Gender
  • Relationship Status
  • Sexual Orientation
  • Religious Views
  • Political Views

Why Facebook will always be FREE

When companies buy ads on Facebook, they can target potential customers who like certain pages or have a certain age range or political view. For example: the ads can even be directed at potential customers in certain geographic locations, within a certain age range and specific religious views.

If you owned a new jazz club in Las Angeles, you might want to target users with an age range of 50-65+ who like to listen to: Miles Davis, Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra or Nat King Cole. You would probably target potential users who lived within a few miles of your new club.

If you were running for a political office, you would probably target your ad to Facebook users who shared that they are of a specific political belief. You may want to target users who liked certain Facebook pages and you may choose to even include or exclude a certain sexual preference or marital status (depending on which party you hoped to be elected for).

Because Facebook users voluntarily supply this very detailed information about their lives, you could target potential customers who fit exactly your target audience and send them the ads. You will never have to pay to use Facebook because the information you trade about your life is absolutely invaluable.

“Facebook will start charging” messages are a scam. Now you can see why!
