Hello Mobile no longer exists. It was a prepaid MVNO on T-Mobile’s network, and its customers were moved to Liberty Wireless at the start of 2025.
Hello Mobile is gone
Hello Mobile was absorbed into Liberty Wireless in December 2024, and the brand stopped operating as of January 2025. Customers were notified of the plan changes and moved to Liberty Wireless accounts.
If you had a Hello Mobile line
Your number now sits with Liberty Wireless. To port it, call Liberty Wireless customer service and ask for the account number and security PIN; a Hello Mobile account number or PIN no longer applies. The Liberty Wireless page has the current steps.
How Hello Mobile ended
- 2019: Hello Mobile launched as a low-cost prepaid brand on T-Mobile’s network.
- December 2024: Hello Mobile was absorbed into Liberty Wireless and customers were notified of the plan changes.
- January 2025: Hello Mobile stopped operating under its own name; former customers continued on Liberty Wireless.
The history of Hello Mobile
Hello Mobile sold cheap prepaid plans on T-Mobile’s 4G LTE and 5G networks for about six years. It never built its own network or stores; it was a reseller, which is why the hand-off to Liberty Wireless, another T-Mobile reseller, needed no new SIM for most customers. The transition was rough for some: a billing error in mid-January 2025 let plans expire early, and Liberty said the problem would clear when the plans renewed. Former customers who did not want to stay could port out through Liberty Wireless customer service.
How to find who holds an old number now
- Check an old bill or payment record. It names the company that billed you last.
- Run the number through a carrier lookup tool. It shows the carrier that holds the number today.
- Call that carrier and ask for the account number and transfer PIN.
- Start the port from the new carrier. Never cancel the old line first.
Your right to keep a number
Number portability is federal law, not a carrier policy. The rule is the FCC’s: Portability: Keeping Your Phone Number When Changing Service Providers.

How we verified Hello Mobile
Best Cellular tracks active carriers and defunct ones. We keep both, because people still search for brands that no longer exist. Every fact on this Hello Mobile page comes from at least two independent sources, listed below, and we leave a detail out when no source states it. Where sources disagree, this page says so. If you can document a correction, tell us and we will check it against the sources.
Tracked and active are different counts on this site. Hello Mobile counts in our tracked total, not in our active total, so it does not appear in tools built for live carriers.
