Here is how to get your C Spire account number and transfer PIN, and what to do with them when you move your number to another carrier.
Account Number
On your C Spire bill (it is not your phone number), or call 1-855-277-4735 (1-855-CSPIRE5, 24 hours) or dial 611 from your C Spire phone and ask for it.
Transfer PIN
C Spire has no self-service PIN screen. Call 1-855-277-4735 before you start the transfer. C Spire then texts you to confirm the move, and you must reply within 8 hours, so keep the phone and keep service active until the transfer is done. Only the account holder can transfer a number.
How to get your C Spire account number and transfer PIN
One phone call does both. C Spire states that calls to 1-855-277-4735 are handled 24 hours a day, from any phone.
- Check the SIM Change & Port-Out Lock first. C Spire offers both locks under Account Settings in your online account to help block online SIM swaps and port-out requests, and it alerts the account holder by email and text whenever either is requested. C Spire’s help article does not say how to turn off the Port-Out Lock, so ask on the call if the screen does not offer it.
- Call 1-855-277-4735 (1-855-CSPIRE5), or dial 611 from your C Spire phone. Both are staffed 24 hours a day. The porting help line is 844-912-7747.
- Ask them to release your number for porting and to give you the transfer PIN.
- Ask for the account number in the same call if you do not have a bill handy.
- Submit the transfer at your new carrier promptly. C Spire publishes no PIN expiry, so do not let it sit.
Before you start the transfer
- Do not cancel C Spire first. The FCC’s consumer guide tells customers to start service with the new company and not to cancel the old service first. The port closes the C Spire line once it completes.
- Leaving C Spire means changing networks. C Spire owns and operates its own towers in Mississippi and parts of Alabama and Tennessee. Compare coverage before you commit: see which network every carrier actually uses.
- Take the account number from the bill, not a guess. It is not your phone number.
- Never guess a transfer PIN. C Spire issues it when you ask for it on the call.

Common questions about leaving C Spire
What towers does C Spire use?
Its own. C Spire is a privately held regional carrier based in Ridgeland, Mississippi, with roughly a million customers. It owns and operates its network across Mississippi and parts of Alabama and Tennessee, including the Mobile and Baldwin County areas and the Memphis metro. Outside that footprint its nationwide coverage is delivered by roaming. C Spire does not name its roaming partners on its network page, coverage help page or published coverage maps, so this page does not either.
What network does C Spire use?
C Spire is the network in its home footprint. It is not an MVNO. The occasional claim that C Spire sold to AT&T refers to a 2013 deal for spectrum and 21,000 customers from its Corr Wireless subsidiary, not the company.
How do I get a C Spire transfer PIN online?
C Spire publishes no self-service method. Call 1-855-277-4735 and ask them to release the number. Any site telling you to use the last four digits of your Social Security number is wrong. That guidance predates the FCC number-transfer PIN rules, and one widely copied version of it also lists a mistyped support number.
How long is a C Spire transfer PIN good for?
C Spire publishes no expiry period, and no reliable third-party source states one. Request the PIN immediately before the new carrier submits the transfer rather than assuming the common seven-day window applies.
Why did my C Spire port-out get rejected?
The two most likely causes are a SIM Change or Port-Out Lock still enabled in your online account, and a port submitted without first calling C Spire for the PIN, since there is no other way to get one. Wrong account details at the new carrier are the third.
Do I have to cancel C Spire before switching?
No. Cancelling first can cost you the number. Start the port at the new carrier and let it close the C Spire line when it completes.
How long does a port take?
The FCC requires a simple port to be processed within one business day. A wireless-to-wireless move can finish in a few hours once the new carrier has the right account number and PIN.
Check coverage before you port
C Spire owns and operates towers in its own service area and roams onto a national network outside it, so your coverage depends on where you actually use the phone. Inside the home area you are on C Spire’s own network. Outside it, check the national maps: Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T.
