C Spire Account Number and Transfer PIN

C Spire has no self-service transfer PIN - you have to call. Here is the number to dial, where the account number sits on your bill, and the lock that blocks port-outs.

Account Number

On your bill, in two places: page 1, labeled item C in the summary at the top; and again on page 5 and later, in the block showing the account holder name, account number and billing period closing date. Or call 1-855-277-4735 and ask.

Transfer PIN

C Spire has no self-service way to generate one. You must call 1-855-277-4735 (or the porting line, 844-912-7747) and ask them to release your number and provide the PIN.

C Spire tells incoming customers how to get a transfer PIN from T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T, Straight Talk and Tracfone – but publishes nothing for its own departing customers. There is no app screen, no portal button and no help article. If you submit a port request at a new carrier without calling C Spire first, it will be rejected.

How to get your C Spire account number and transfer PIN

One phone call does both. Wireless Support is staffed 24 hours a day.

  1. Turn off SIM Change and Port-Out Locks first. C Spire offers these in your online account to block online SIM swaps and port-out requests. If either is enabled, the transfer fails. This is the most likely C Spire-specific rejection.
  2. Call 1-855-277-4735 (1-855-CSPIRE5), or dial 611 from your C Spire phone. The dedicated porting line is 844-912-7747.
  3. Ask them to release your number for porting and to give you the transfer PIN.
  4. Ask for the account number in the same call if you do not have a bill handy.
  5. Submit the transfer at your new carrier promptly. C Spire publishes no PIN expiry, so do not let it sit.

Before you start the transfer

  1. Do not cancel C Spire first. C Spire’s own porting page warns that cancelling with your current provider may result in losing the number you want to keep.
  2. Leaving C Spire means changing networks. C Spire owns and operates its own towers in Mississippi and parts of Alabama and Tennessee – no other carrier runs on them. Compare coverage before you commit: see which network every carrier actually uses.
  3. Numbers from outside the Southeast can hit snags. C Spire flags that numbers originating outside the Southeastern US can run into porting problems and may need a call or a store visit.
  4. Take the account number from the bill, not a guess. It is not your phone number.

Common questions about leaving C Spire

What towers does C Spire use?

Its own. C Spire is a privately held regional carrier based in Ridgeland, Mississippi with roughly a million customers, and it owns and operates its network across Mississippi and parts of Alabama and Tennessee, including the Mobile and Baldwin County areas and the Memphis metro. Outside that footprint its nationwide coverage is delivered by roaming. C Spire does not name its roaming partners on its network page, coverage help page or published coverage maps, so we do not either.

What network does C Spire use?

C Spire is the network in its home footprint – it is not an MVNO. It was still investing in that network through 2026, with 5G expansions across Mississippi and a converged wireless-and-fiber plan launched in May 2026. The occasional claim that C Spire sold to AT&T refers to a 2013 deal for spectrum and 21,000 customers from its Corr Wireless subsidiary, not the company.

How do I get a C Spire transfer PIN online?

You cannot. C Spire publishes no self-service method. Call 1-855-277-4735 or 844-912-7747 and ask them to release the number. Any site telling you to use the last four digits of your Social Security number is wrong – that guidance predates the FCC number-transfer PIN rules and one widely copied version of it also lists a mistyped support number.

How long is a C Spire transfer PIN good for?

C Spire publishes no expiry period, and no reliable third-party source states one. Request it immediately before the new carrier submits the transfer rather than assuming the common seven-day window applies.

Why did my C Spire port-out get rejected?

The most likely C Spire-specific cause is SIM Change and Port-Out Locks still being enabled in your online account. The second is submitting the port without calling C Spire first, since there is no way to obtain the PIN otherwise. The third is a number that originated outside the Southeast, which C Spire flags as prone to porting problems.

Do I have to cancel C Spire before switching?

No. C Spire warns directly against it – cancelling first can lose you the number. The port closes the line once it completes.
