GreatCall is now Lively. The name changed in May 2021 and the service never stopped. Here is where GreatCall numbers went and who holds the account number and transfer PIN now.
GreatCall is now Lively
The company renamed itself Lively in May 2021. Same business, same Jitterbug phones, same medical alert devices — different name. There is no GreatCall account to port out of any more. You have a Lively account.
Where to go next
Everything you need to move the number — account number, Number Transfer PIN, who to call — is on the current page: Lively account number and transfer PIN.
Check coverage before you port
GreatCall became Lively, which runs on the Verizon network, so the coverage you get at your address is Verizon coverage. Check it on Verizon’s own coverage map before you start the transfer.
Your right to keep the number is federal, not a carrier policy. The rule is the FCC’s: Portability: Keeping Your Phone Number When Changing Service Providers.

Where GreatCall customers usually go next
GreatCall is now Lively. The same accounts and the same Verizon network carry over, so Lively is the direct continuation — not a switch at all.
Questions about GreatCall
Is GreatCall still in service?
No. GreatCall no longer operates as a carrier — it was renamed.
Where did GreatCall customers go?
Accounts moved to Lively. If your line still works, it is a Lively account now, and that is who you request an account number and transfer PIN from.
Can I still get an account number and transfer PIN from GreatCall?
No. There is no GreatCall support line to call. If the number still works, it belongs to whichever carrier took the account over, and you request the transfer details from them.
What happened to GreatCall phone numbers?
A number that was still active when the account transferred stayed with the new carrier. A number on a cancelled account was released back into the pool and cannot be recovered.
Can I get a GreatCall number reassigned to me?
No. Once a number is released it goes back into the general pool and is reassigned at random. There is no way to request a specific retired number.
Is the GreatCall name still worth searching for?
Only to confirm the brand is gone. Current account numbers, PINs and port-out steps live with the carrier that now holds the line.
Can I still use a GreatCall SIM card?
No. The SIM authenticates against a network that no longer provisions GreatCall accounts, so it will not activate on any line.
My GreatCall number was disconnected. Can I get it back?
Almost certainly not. Carriers hold a disconnected number in aging for a period, then release it for reassignment. Once it is reassigned there is no way to reclaim it.
