Here is how to get your Mediacom Mobile account number and transfer PIN, and what to do with them when you move your number to another carrier.
Account Number
Mediacom does not show the mobile account number in the Mediacom account. Contact Mediacom Mobile support and ask for the account number used for a number transfer; the Mediacom cable account number on your bill is not it. Mediacom sells the service under the Mediacom Mobile name today; it launched as Xtream Mobile, and older paperwork may still carry that name.
Transfer PIN
Ask the same agent for a transfer PIN. Mediacom publishes no self-service path for it. Request the account number and PIN together, write both down, and keep the Mediacom Mobile line active until the new carrier confirms the number has moved.
Which network Mediacom Mobile uses
Mediacom’s own wording is that Mediacom Mobile “runs on the mobile network awarded for Best 5G Reliability in U.S.,” citing RootMetrics for the first half of 2025. That is a description, not a name, so this record is classified as host network not recorded. If you are leaving, dial *#06# for the IMEI and run it through the destination carrier’s compatibility check rather than assuming.
Who runs Mediacom Mobile
Mediacom Communications, the cable operator serving 22 states, sells Mediacom Mobile to its internet customers alongside Xtream Internet and TV. The wireless service launched under the Xtream Mobile name and is now marketed as Mediacom Mobile; plans are no-contract and priced per line, with switching credits advertised for customers who bring a number.
Mediacom Mobile Contact Info
- Mobile sales and switching: 855-214-2078, the number on mediacommobile.com
- Support: Mediacom’s Answer Center and Contact Us pages at mediacomcable.com; Mediacom publishes no mobile-specific care number on the mobile site
- Website: mediacommobile.com
How to port your number away from Mediacom Mobile
- Keep the line active. Do not cancel Mediacom Mobile before the port completes.
- Contact Mediacom support through the Contact Us page or by phone and ask for your mobile account number and transfer PIN. Say that you are porting the number to another carrier.
- Give the new carrier the account number, the transfer PIN, the zip code on the Mediacom Mobile account, and the account holder’s name exactly as Mediacom has it.
- Wait for the new SIM to activate. The Mediacom Mobile line ends once the number moves; check that the mobile charge drops off your Mediacom bill.
Why a Mediacom Mobile port gets rejected
The common cause is the Mediacom cable account number submitted in place of the mobile account number, followed by a transfer PIN that was never issued. Contact support, have the agent confirm both, and resubmit with the name and zip code exactly as they appear on the mobile account.

Mediacom Mobile port-out questions
What network does Mediacom Mobile use?
Mediacom does not name it; it cites a RootMetrics 5G reliability award instead. We record that as not published rather than guessing.
Is Xtream Mobile the same as Mediacom Mobile?
Yes. Xtream Mobile was the launch name; Mediacom now markets the same service as Mediacom Mobile.
Where do I get the Mediacom Mobile account number and PIN?
From Mediacom support. Mediacom publishes no self-service path for them, and the cable account number on the bill is not the mobile account number.
Can I keep my number if I leave Mediacom Mobile?
Yes. Federal rules require the carrier to release it. Keep the line active, get the account number and PIN, and let the new carrier start the port.
Does BestCellular.com list Mediacom Mobile as an active carrier?
Yes. Mediacom Mobile sells service today, so it counts toward the active total in our carrier dataset.
