Venn Mobile was a low-cost reseller on Sprint’s network, launched in late January 2020 with one $30 unlimited plan. On June 26, 2020, service stopped. A Venn spokesperson confirmed Sprint turned off the lines. Venn was run by the people behind T-Mobile business-plan reseller Teltik.
Venn Mobile is gone
Venn Mobile service stopped on June 26, 2020, five months after launch. About a month earlier it had stopped activating new lines and selling phones. A Venn spokesperson told BestMVNO that “Sprint did turn off the lines” and that Venn was waiting for Sprint to turn them back on, with no estimated time. Service was not restored. Customers were warned their numbers could be canceled in early July 2020.
If you had a Venn Mobile line
No carrier took over Venn Mobile customers. BestMVNO advised customers to find a new provider and port their numbers out quickly, because numbers might be canceled in early July 2020. If you did not move your number then, it is very likely gone. Any active carrier will work today.
How Venn Mobile ended
- Late January 2020: Venn Mobile launches on Sprint with one unlimited plan at $30 a month, including 50GB of hotspot.
- Late May 2020: Venn stops activating new lines and selling phones.
- June 26, 2020: Service stops; a Venn spokesperson says Sprint turned off the lines.
- June 27, 2020: BestMVNO reports the outage may be permanent and urges customers to port out.
Why Venn Mobile ended
Sprint switched off Venn’s lines, and Venn could not get them turned back on. The exact cause was never confirmed. Unverified Reddit posts claimed Venn owed Sprint $26,000, later more than $60,000. Venn declined to comment. BestMVNO called the claims likely but speculative. Wikipedia’s carrier list adds that Venn blamed the outage on the Sprint and T-Mobile merger. Sister company Teltik also put activations on hold.
How to find who holds an old number now
- Check an old bill or payment record. It names the company that billed you last.
- Run the number through a carrier lookup tool. It shows the carrier that holds the number today.
- Call that carrier and ask for the account number and transfer PIN.
- Start the port from the new carrier. Never cancel the old line first.
Your right to keep a number
Number portability is federal law, not a carrier policy. The rule is the FCC’s: Portability: Keeping Your Phone Number When Changing Service Providers.

How we verified Venn Mobile
BestCellular.com tracks active carriers and defunct ones. We keep both, because people still search for brands that no longer exist. Every fact on this page comes from the sources listed below, and we leave a detail out when no source states it. Where sources disagree, this page says so. If you can document a correction, tell us and we will check it against the sources.
Tracked and active are different counts on this site. Venn Mobile counts in our tracked total, not in our active total, so it does not appear in tools built for live carriers.
