Real Mobile was a prepaid phone service that ran on both the Sprint and AT&T networks. The last dated report BestCellular.com found is from July 2017. Its website, realmobile.com, now redirects to a domain broker’s page. BestCellular.com found no official shutdown notice or end date.
Real Mobile appears to be shut down
Real Mobile was an MVNO that used both the Sprint and AT&T networks. The last dated mention BestCellular.com found is a July 15, 2017 report on new plans. On October 14, 2026, realmobile.com redirected to a domain broker’s listing for the name, which says it is not currently for sale. No official end date was found.
If you had a Real Mobile line
No source names a carrier that took over Real Mobile customers. If your old number still works, it now sits with the carrier you moved it to. Ask that carrier for your account number and port-out PIN before you switch again. Do not confuse Real Mobile with UNREAL Mobile, a different brand.
BestCellular.com could not find an official shutdown notice and will update this page if one is published. The network details come from a single third-party source, BestMVNO.
How Real Mobile ended
- July 15, 2017: BestMVNO reports that Real Mobile, an MVNO on Sprint and AT&T, added AT&T-based plans, including 4 GB of data with unlimited talk and text for $40 a month.
Why Real Mobile appears to have ended
The sources do not say. BestCellular.com found no press release, filing or news report about Real Mobile closing. What remains is indirect: no dated coverage after July 2017, and a website that now sends visitors to a domain broker’s page instead of a phone service. This page leaves the cause open until a dated source appears.
How to find who holds an old number now
- Check an old bill or payment record. It names the company that billed you last.
- Run the number through a carrier lookup tool. It shows the carrier that holds the number today.
- Call that carrier and ask for the account number and transfer PIN.
- Start the port from the new carrier. Never cancel the old line first.
Your right to keep a number
Number portability is federal law, not a carrier policy. The rule is the FCC’s: Portability: Keeping Your Phone Number When Changing Service Providers.
How we verified Real Mobile
BestCellular.com tracks active carriers and defunct ones. We keep both, because people still search for brands that no longer exist. Every fact on this page comes from the sources listed below, and we leave a detail out when no source states it. Where sources disagree, this page says so. If you can document a correction, tell us and we will check it against the sources.
Tracked and active are different counts on this site. Real Mobile counts in our tracked total, not in our active total, so it does not appear in tools built for live carriers.
