Paid in full is a hard gate. Torch states the account must be paid in full before a number can be transferred. On a subsidised Lifeline or ACP line that usually means nothing is owed — but a device payment plan or an add-on balance will stop the port until it is cleared.

Who actually operates Torch Wireless

Torch does not run its own network or, in practice, its own wireless operation. In its own words, “wireless service is brought to you in partnership with LinkUP Mobile,” and it states that “USA Phone (or Torch) and LinkUP Mobile are wholly owned subsidiaries of SurgePays, Inc.“

That matters when you call: the person answering may be working from LinkUP systems, and the account of record may be under a different entity than the brand on your phone. Ask for the account number as Torch holds it, and read it back.

How to port your number away from Torch Wireless

  1. Clear any balance. Torch requires the account to be paid in full before it will release the number.
  2. Call 1-877-998-6724 and request the account number and PIN.
  3. Have your telephone number ready — Torch lists it as the third required item alongside the account number and PIN.
  4. Start the port from the new carrier. Never cancel Torch first; cancelling releases the number and you lose it permanently.
  5. Keep the line active until the new carrier confirms the transfer is complete.

Which network does Torch Wireless run on?
