Account Number
Request it by email from support@maxsiptel.com. Maxsip has taken its phone support down — email is the only published channel while the company winds down.
Transfer PIN
Ask for the transfer PIN in the same email as the account number, and include your phone number and account name so support can find you in one pass.
What winding down means for your number
Number portability is a federal right, but it depends on the losing carrier being able to respond to the transfer request. When a carrier winds down, the window in which that still works reliably closes without warning. If you hold a Maxsip number you want to keep, start the port now rather than waiting for an announcement.
Maxsip has not published a cut-off date, a transition partner, or instructions for existing customers beyond a single support email address. Treat the absence of a deadline as urgency, not reassurance.
How to port your number away from Maxsip Telecom
- Email support@maxsiptel.com and request your account number and transfer PIN together. Include your phone number, the account holder name and the service address.
- Keep a copy of the request. With a winding-down carrier, a dated record of when you asked is worth having if the port is later disputed.
- Do not cancel and do not let the line lapse. A disconnected number cannot be transferred, and with a closing carrier it may not be recoverable at all.
- Start the port from the new carrier as soon as you have the details.
- If Maxsip does not respond, the new carrier can still attempt the port with the number and account name; and a port-out that a carrier fails to honour can be raised with the FCC.
Which network did Maxsip Telecom run on?
T-Mobile and AT&T, per its own regulatory filings. Maxsip did not name a network in its consumer marketing, but the Lifeline entity trading as Maxsip Tel told state regulators which networks it resells. A New Jersey Board of Public Utilities ETC order records “the underlying wireless networks of Tier 1 carriers, currently T-Mobile USA, Inc. (“T-Mobile”) and/or AT&T”, and a California Public Utilities Commission filing states that it “is a wireless reseller whose underlying wholesale partners are T-Mobile USA and AT&T Wireless”. Which of the two served a given line depended on the service address.
Assume the handset does not travel. Subsidised programme phones are frequently locked, and a winding-down carrier is unlikely to process an unlock request promptly. Plan on keeping the number, not the device.
