What winding down means for your number
Number portability is a federal right, but it depends on the losing carrier being able to respond to the transfer request. When a carrier winds down, the window in which that still works reliably closes without warning. If you hold a Maxsip number you want to keep, start the port now rather than waiting for an announcement.
