PTel Porting Instructions

PTel account number is the phone number. The passcode is your 4-digit account PIN which can be found by logging in to My Account on Ptel.com and clicking Account Details. or by calling PTel.

Notes: PTel is now out of business. The customer service is unattended and there is no way to speak with an operator.

Account numbers and port-out info for other carriers

Consumer Cellular Account Number, PIN & Port Out

Your Consumer Cellular account number can be found online or by calling Consumer Cellular. It will be a 9 digit number. There is no passcode for Consumer Cellular so you will need to use: 0000 if the carrier you are porting to requires a passcode. The name, address and last-4 numbers of the SSN must match Consumer Cellular’s records. Call Consumer Cellular porting department if you run in to problems.

Total Wireless Account Number, PIN & Port Out

Account # is the phone’s MEID. There is no passcode for Total Wireless. Use: 0000 if the operator you are porting to requires a passcode.

Tracfone Account Number, PIN & Port Out

Call TracFone and ask them to release your number for porting. Tracfone account # is NOT the phone number. It is the MEID or IMEI serial number of the phone (this can be found on the back of the phone itself – under the battery, so remove the battery!) Or, if your are using a BYOP SIM Card, it will be the last 15-digits of your SIM Card number. You can also view the account number in the My Account section of the TracFone website by clicking “Add (or Edit) Nickname”. – TracFone doesn’t use passcodes, use 0000 if the operator you are porting to requires a passcode.

Straight Talk Account Number, PIN & Port Out

Call Straight Talk and ask them to release your number for porting. Straight Talk account # is NOT the Phone Number. It is the MEID or IMEI serial number of the phone (this can be found on the back of the phone itself – under the battery, so remove the battery!) Or, if your are using a BYOP SIM Card, it will be the last 15-digits of your SIM Card number. You can also view the account number in the My Account section of the Straight Talk website by clicking Add (or Edit) Nickname. – Passcode can be found on your online Straight Talk My Account page by clicking Update Personal Profile where it’s listed as Current Security PIN. If That field is blank, be sure to set up a passcode PIN before porting. (VERY IMPORTANT).

AT&T Postpaid Account Number, PIN & Port Out

The account number for AT&T postpaid accounts will be on the customers bill (it is NOT the phone number). The password will be your online password. For bundled accounts, the account number will be a 12-digit number under your wireless account summary. Also, (only for bundled bills) you will need to call AT&T customer service for the passcode. The passcode will be a 4-digit PIN number that AT&T will provide to you.

T-Mobile Postpaid Account Number, PIN & Port Out

T-Mobile Postpaid uses a 9-digit account number (NOT phone #) on your bill. Password can be an actual word. Call to verify.
