Consumer Cellular Porting Instructions

Notes: Consumer Cellular is a GSM MVNO that uses AT&T and T-Mobile towers to provide service. They do sell their own branded devices and (in many cases) support BYOD activations but we were told that features like MMS messaging and mobile data may not always work on all devices. The customer service rep we spoke with was very helpful.

US Cellular Account Number, PIN and Port Out Instructions

To port your number out of US Cellular you need two things: your US Cellular account number and a transfer PIN. The account number appears in the top left of your online account and on your bill. The transfer PIN is a 4 to 6 digit code you get by calling US Cellular at 1-888-944-9400. Give both to your new carrier, and do not cancel your US Cellular service first. Last verified September 2026.
