Here is how to get your Sparklight Mobile account number and transfer PIN, and what to do with them when you move your number to another carrier.
Account Number
Sparklight does not show the mobile account number in the Sparklight account. Contact Sparklight Mobile support and ask for the account number used for a number transfer; the Sparklight Internet account number on your bill is not it. Sparklight Mobile is sold only to Sparklight Internet customers, so the two accounts sit side by side and are easy to confuse.
Transfer PIN
Ask the same agent for a transfer PIN. Sparklight publishes no self-service path for it. Request the account number and PIN together, write both down, and keep the Sparklight Mobile line active until the new carrier confirms the number has moved.
Which network Sparklight Mobile uses
Sparklight describes its mobile product as “reliable nationwide mobile coverage” and does not name the carrier behind it. We do not guess, so this record is classified as host network not recorded until Sparklight publishes it. If you are leaving, dial *#06# for the IMEI and run it through the destination carrier’s compatibility check rather than assuming.
Who runs Sparklight Mobile
Sparklight is the consumer brand of Cable One, the cable operator serving smaller cities across 24 states. Sparklight Mobile is its bundled wireless service for internet customers, sold per line with a promotional free line for new bundles. How to port your number away from Sparklight Mobile
- Keep the line active. Do not cancel Sparklight Mobile before the port completes.
- Contact Sparklight support and ask for your mobile account number and transfer PIN. Say that you are porting the number to another carrier.
- Give the new carrier the account number, the transfer PIN, the zip code on the Sparklight Mobile account, and the account holder’s name exactly as Sparklight has it.
- Wait for the new SIM to activate. The Sparklight Mobile line ends once the number moves; check that the mobile charge drops off your Sparklight bill.
Why a Sparklight Mobile port gets rejected
The common cause is the Sparklight Internet account number submitted in place of the mobile account number, followed by a transfer PIN that was never issued. Contact support, have the agent confirm both, and resubmit with the name and zip code exactly as they appear on the mobile account.
