Transfer PIN

Same route. StandUp publishes no port-out article and no self-service PIN screen. Ask for the transfer PIN on the same call and read the digits back to the agent before you hang up.

StandUp Wireless runs on T-Mobile. The StandUp coverage and network FAQ names the T-Mobile nationwide wireless network, and the StandUp Prepaid site says the same. Who StandUp Wireless actually is

StandUp Wireless is a brand of Global Connection Inc. of America, which states on its own site that it is a government-approved Lifeline provider. Lifeline is the federal program that covers phone service for qualifying low-income households. Service is free to the subscriber, which is exactly why the port-out path is manual — there is no bill and no billing portal to pull an account number from.

If Q Link Wireless sent you here

Q Link Wireless is gone. Its owner pleaded guilty in October 2024 to conspiracy to defraud the United States, wire fraud and theft of government funds. The FCC suspended the company in December 2024 and permanently debarred it in December 2025. Q Link’s Lifeline customers were migrated to StandUp Wireless, which is why your service changed names without you asking. The full Q Link timeline is here.

How to get your StandUp Wireless account number and transfer PIN

  1. Keep the line active. Do not cancel first. Porting out of a closed line is far harder, and on Lifeline an unused line can be discontinued outright.
  2. Dial 611 from the StandUp phone, or call 1-800-544-4441 from any phone.
  3. Ask for both by name — the account number and the transfer PIN (some agents call it the port-out PIN). Say plainly that you are moving the number to another carrier.
  4. Write down the exact digits and read them back. StandUp publishes no expiry window, so treat the PIN as short-lived and start the port the same day you get it.
  5. Give the new carrier all three: account number, transfer PIN, and the service address on the StandUp account. A mismatch on any one of them is the usual reason a port is rejected.

What StandUp does not publish

Detail Published by StandUp?
Where to find your account number No — care only
Self-service transfer PIN screen No
Transfer PIN length No
Transfer PIN expiry No
Port-out lock or protection setting No
Customer care hours No
Host network Yes — T-Mobile

Every row above is a deliberate blank. Sites that fill them in are copying each other, not StandUp. If an agent gives you a different answer than what you read somewhere, the agent is right.

Two Lifeline rules that catch people on the way out

One benefit per household. The FCC states: “Only one Lifeline benefit is permitted per household.” You cannot sign up with a second Lifeline carrier and then port at your leisure — the first enrollment has to end.

You recertify every year. The FCC states: “Subscribers must recertify their eligibility every year.” Miss it and the line is cancelled, which takes the number with it.

And the one nobody tells you: the discount is tied to the provider you are enrolled with, not to your phone number. Port to a carrier that is not a Lifeline provider and you are paying full price from the first day.

Common questions

What network does StandUp Wireless use?

T-Mobile. The StandUp coverage and network FAQ states that StandUp Wireless provides service using the T-Mobile nationwide wireless network, and the StandUp Prepaid site repeats it. Your phone must be unlocked and support T-Mobile bands.

Can I get my StandUp transfer PIN online?

No. There is no self-service screen for it. Dial 611 or call 1-800-544-4441.

How long is the StandUp transfer PIN good for?

StandUp does not publish an expiry. Assume it is short and start the port the same day.

Will I keep my free service if I port my number out?

Only if the carrier you move to is also a Lifeline provider and you qualify under its enrollment. Moving to an ordinary prepaid plan ends the benefit.

I was a Q Link customer. Is my number still mine?

If the line is still active under StandUp, yes. Port it before it lapses — once a Lifeline line is discontinued for non-use, the number is released and cannot be recovered.

Check coverage before you port

StandUp Wireless runs on the T-Mobile network, so check the T-Mobile coverage map for the addresses where you live and work before you port.

Your right to keep the number is federal, not a carrier policy. The rule is the FCC’s: Portability: Keeping Your Phone Number When Changing Service Providers.

Working a counter? The StandUp Wireless transfer PIN lookup puts these steps on one screen and texts them to the customer.
