Here is how to get your TDS Mobile account number and transfer PIN, and what to do with them when you move your number to another carrier.
Account Number
TDS does not show the mobile account number in the TDS account. Call TDS Mobile at 1-866-571-6662, the number TDS publishes for its mobile product, and ask for the account number used for a number transfer. Your TDS broadband account number is not it, and TDS Mobile is a different product from the TDS Telecom landline service, which has its own page.
Transfer PIN
Ask the same agent for a Number Transfer PIN. TDS uses that term on its own bring-your-own-phone page, where it tells switchers that a port needs “your current carrier account number and Account PIN or Number Transfer PIN.” The same two items are what a new carrier needs from TDS Mobile. Keep the line active until the number moves.
Which network TDS Mobile uses
TDS describes the coverage as “one of America’s most reliable 5G networks” and refers to “the TDS Mobile network” without naming the carrier. TDS launched the product with Reach, a software provider that runs wireless service for cable and telecom companies, through the National Content & Technology Cooperative; Reach resells more than one national network and TDS has not said which one its lines use. We do not guess, so this record is classified as host network not recorded. If you are leaving, dial *#06# for the IMEI and run it through the destination carrier’s compatibility check.
Who runs TDS Mobile
TDS Telecom, the Wisconsin-based broadband and phone company, announced TDS Mobile in June 2024 and made it available to all of its broadband customers outside California by November 2025. It sells a by-the-gig plan and an unlimited plan, both with unlimited talk and text, no contract and a 30-day money-back guarantee, and it lets customers keep their phone and number when they join.

How to port your number away from TDS Mobile
- Keep the line active. Do not cancel TDS Mobile before the port completes.
- Call 1-866-571-6662 and ask for your mobile account number and a Number Transfer PIN. Say that you are porting the number to another carrier.
- Give the new carrier the account number, the Number Transfer PIN, the zip code on the TDS Mobile account, and the account holder’s name exactly as TDS has it.
- Wait for the new SIM to activate. The TDS Mobile line ends once the number moves; check that the mobile charge drops off your TDS bill.
Why a TDS Mobile port gets rejected
The common cause is the TDS broadband account number submitted in place of the mobile account number, followed by a Number Transfer PIN that was never issued. Call 1-866-571-6662, have the agent confirm both, and resubmit with the name and zip code exactly as they appear on the mobile account.
